Premium Domestic Cards

For card classification, if your business is based in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, your card processing fees will differ between standard domestic cards and premium domestic cards. Please refer to Stripe's support article for more information on standard versus premium cards. A list of EEA card countries is given at the bottom of this article.

Currency Conversion Rates

This is the standard quoted international rates. This assumes your customers will be paying in your currency (GBP£). If you offer goods or services for sale in a currency other than GBP, there will be a settlement fee of 2% currency conversion.

Custom Branding & SUN Statement Reference

In the UK, when you use BACS debit with BritePay, the reference on the client's bank statement, as well as any associated payment pages and emails, will be "Stripe".

You may want custom branding on your client's bank statement. To enable Custom Branding for Bacs Direct Debit payments in the UK, Stripe offers this feature at a cost of £50 per active month. This allows your business name to appear on customer bank statements, payment pages, and emails.

For detailed information and to activate this feature, please refer to Stripe's documentation Stripe Documentation - See the "Checkout" section in the document. You must apply for a SUN reference through your bank. Once you have secured a SUN reference number with your bank, we can facilitate enabling your SUN reference on your account.

Terms of Service

Your application and management of your BritePay account and all payments processed through BritePay by you and your clients are subject to the BritePay Terms of Service.
