Understanding Payouts with BritePay
When you receive a payment, it will show on your payments dashboard. Funds are transferred to your bank based on your country, payout schedule, and bank account settings.
Payout Schedule & Speed
The time it takes for payouts from your BritePay/Stripe account to reach your bank account depends on two factors:
Payout Schedule – how often Stripe initiates payouts.
Payout Speed – how long it takes for the funds to reach your bank.
With BritePay, your payout schedule and speed remain the same as your Stripe account’s current settings.
Payout Schedule
The payout schedule determines how frequently Stripe sends funds to your bank. You can change this schedule at any time in your BritePay/Stripe Dashboard. BritePay follows the same payout schedule options as Stripe:
Daily Automatic
Weekly Automatic (choose a specific day of the week)
Monthly Automatic (choose a specific day of the month)
Manual (initiate payouts whenever you choose)
Keep in mind that payout schedules determine when Stripe initiates a transfer, but the actual time it takes for funds to reach your bank depends on payout speed.
Payout Speed
Payout speed refers to the time it takes for funds to clear into your bank account. The timeframe varies based on your country. While Stripe provides estimated payout speeds, actual times may differ.
For payout speed details, refer to the following Stripe support articles:

💡 Note: New Stripe accounts are subject to a 7-day waiting period for their first payout. This waiting period cannot be bypassed and may be longer depending on your industry and country.
Minimum & Maximum Payout Amounts
Minimum Payout Amounts
Stripe requires payouts to meet a minimum threshold before transferring funds to your bank. This threshold is based on the lowest amount banks accept in your country.
With BritePay, your minimum payout amount remains the same as Stripe’s standard limits. If your balance is below the minimum threshold, it will stay in your Stripe account until additional payments are received.
Check Stripe’s help article on minimum payout amounts by country for details.
Maximum Payout Amounts
There is no upper limit on the amount you can receive in a payout through Stripe!
Updating Your Bank Account for Payouts
If you switch to a new bank, you’ll need to update your bank details directly in Stripe— not in BritePay.
Follow Stripe’s help article on updating bank account details for step-by-step instructions.
Old Bank Account - Open
If a payout has already been initiated before you update your bank details, funds will be deposited into your previous bank account.
If the old bank account is still active, it’s not possible to recall the payout.
Old Bank Account - Closed
If your old bank account is closed, the funds will return to Stripe within 5 business days.
Stripe will then automatically deposit the funds into your new bank account. If you do not have a new bank account added, you should add as soon as possible.
