2FA (Two-Factor Authentication) adds an extra layer of security to your BriteBiz login by adding a second step of verification when you sign in. This means that in addition to entering your username and password, you'll also need to enter a code that is generated by a 2FA Authenticator app on your phone.

What do you need to enable 2FA?

To enable 2FA on your BriteBiz login you will need:

1. Your phone (to install a 2FA Authenticator app if you don't have one installed already)
2. An email address that is different from your BriteBiz login email address (such as a personal email address or a colleague's email address). This will be used as a backup during login if you don't have access to your phone.

1 - Setting up an Authentication App

STEP 1: Install Authentication app

Install a 2FA Authenticator app on your phone if you do not already have one installed. The 2FA Authenticator app will generate a new verification code which you will be asked for each time you log into BriteBiz.

We recommend Google Authenticator (Apple App Store, Google Play) or Microsoft Authenticator (Apple App Store, Google Play) but other Authenticator apps such as Authy can also be used.

STEP 2: Scan the QR code on the enable 2FA page

Open the Authenticator app on your phone, select the Add Account option and when prompted, scan the QR code on the Enable 2FA page (here).

STEP 3: Enter your authentication code

When your BriteBiz account has been added to your Authenticator app it will generate a new verification code every 30 seconds. Enter the current code displayed in the Authenticator app and click Next: Add a backup

2 - Add a Backup Email Address

There may be a time when you don't have access to your phone (lost, broken, etc.). For times like this, you need to have a backup method so that you can still access your BriteBiz account. If you choose to use this backup option when logging in, this email address will be sent a verification code which you will need to enter to sign in.

Enter a backup email address in the field provided. This address must be different from the email address you use to log in.

A verification code will be sent to this address to ensure you have access to this address. Enter this code into the field provided.

Two-factor authentication is now enabled on your login. Each time you attempt to log in, after entering your username and password, you will be prompted for a code from your authentication app. And remember, if you don't have access to your phone, you can use your backup method.
