Creating HTML Email templates

Learn how to add more design to your emails templates with HTML design.

You can add more design formats to your email templates in BriteBiz by using our HTML tool. Your HTML templates need to be designed on a third-party platform such as DesignModo, Search And Grow, or Mailchimp (there are many more options that you may want to try and test).

You can add HTML code to any BriteBiz writer that features the HTML button as detailed below. This includes emails and SmartDocs.

🚨 Due to the complex and unique design nature of custom HTML code, our Customer Care team isn’t able to provide any support on specific HTML Emails or other HTML designs with custom code, you should refer to your own web developer for design assistance.

πŸ‘‹ Here's a tip... This article assumes that you have some knowledge of how custom code works. If not, you may need assistance. If you purchased template code from a third-party site or hired a developer to help you, we recommend reaching out to them for assistance in configuring your design on BriteBiz.

Step 1 - Design your HTML Template

Choose a third-party design platform, such as Mailchimp, and design your HTML template.

Step 2 - Export HTML

Next, you should extract/output the HTML code, and copy and paste it into BriteBiz. This process of extracting/outputting will be different for all providers and you should refer to their support documentation.

Exporting HTML from Mailchimp

  1. Go to your Campaign in Mailchimp

  2. Click the 3 dots (β‹―) next to the campaign β†’ Replicate or open it

  3. In the campaign editor, click "...</ β†’ Export as HTML

Or via the simpler route:

  1. Open the campaign

  2. Click Preview (eye icon)

  3. In the preview, right-click β†’ View Page Source β†’ copy the HTML

Step 3 - Copy HTML code into BriteBiz

Next, you just paste the code into BriteBiz!

Our writer has a dedicated HTML button, as shown in the image below. When you see this icon, you can press it and insert the HTML code. Once you save, you can view your HTML draft.

Supported Code Formats

The HTML editor supports HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

**Tokens

Please note that any tokens you copy from Mailchimp need to be replaced by the BriteBiz tokens.

Testing

We recommend that you send all templates to a personal email address and test them before sending them to a client to make sure all is perfect and represents your brand.
