This article will tell you what to do if you want to edit a document/contract that has been sent in SmartDocs.

If the document/contract has been sent, and you want to make further edits, you need to change the Status of the document from "Sent" to "Draft". You should then make any changes you want to make to the document, and then resend the new contract, with a new SmartDocs email and document link.

This is in line with best practice for digital documents. There is just one link to the most up to date version of the document!
