How Do I Change from PandaDoc to SmartDocs?

Switching from PandaDoc to SmartDocs is really easy, this article shows you how.

Switching from PandaDoc to SmartDocs

If you are currently using the BriteVenue/PandaDoc integration for contracts, and you want to switch to SmartDocs, you should follow these steps.

1. Turn on SmartDocs By Notifying BriteVenue Support

Firstly, you should notify BriteVenue support that you would like to have SmartDocs activated on your account (SmartDocs is an additional subscription feature and you should check that it is enabled on your subscription level).

2. The Digital Documents Tile Changes

Where you currently have a PandaDoc tile, you will now have a tile that says SmartDocs & PandaDoc.

You can create a + SmartDoc or a + PandaDoc now in the same place, and both are saved here.

Don't worry - you don't loose anything! You will see all your old PandaDoc documents/PDF links in this new SmartDocs/PandaDoc section. (PandaDoc documents will have a PandaDoc icon beside them, SmartDocs will have no icon beside them - as per the image below).

2. What Do I Do With My PandaDoc Account?

Your PandaDoc account will work exactly as before. You can click on the PDF icon in BriteVenue and it will bring you to that document in PandaDoc. Over the long term, you have two options.

  • Keep Your PandaDoc Account Active - For the PandaDoc PDF links in BriteVenue to work, your PandaDoc account must be kept active. You might choose to keep your PandaDoc account active.

    or

  • Close Your PandaDoc Account - If you would like to close your PandaDoc account, you should download your contracts in PandaDoc and upload them into the relevant booking in BriteVenue, into the "Attachments" section. You can share "attachments" with clients through the client portal. If you choose to stop using PandaDoc, you can deactivate the PandaDoc integration in BriteVenue.

    To deactivate PandaDoc, you should go to the settings page, then Integrations.

    Click on PandaDoc, and then deactivate.

When you deactivate PandaDoc, the digital documents tile will only show SmartDocs!
